Brooklyn, brunch, Central Park, Astoria, Indian food...

Monday night and here I sit in my apt waiting for an old friend to stop by.  Before he gets here I thought I would recap the weekend with a few words and some pics.
Saturday I explored Brooklyn as you know from my previous post and pics.  That night I attended a bday party on the UWS (look at me using abreviations for the different parts of the city...hee hee).  I was out late that night.
Sunday I met up with coworkers for brunch again on the UWS at Barney Greengrass:

After that Lesley and I made our way over to Central Park for a little stroll.

I made my way back to the apt after that and thougth I would go out again and explore the east village/east side but I ended up napping.  I was just a wee bit tired.  Later that night I went over to Lesley's for some wine, thai food and the Golden Globes.

The next day I took it easy in the morning and hopped online to check out Time Out NY and see what was going on around the city.  I discovred that The Museum of the Moving Image was reopening and had free admission that day.  It was over in Astoria so I got my stuff together and made my way over to Queens on the M train.
The museum was busy and there was a line around the corner.  There were some interesting exhibits but was a bit crowded with people so I didn't stay that long.

After the museum I walked around Astoria for a little bit.  First in a residential area and then I made my way to a more commercial section.  Grabbed a bagel for lunch and then made my way back to the city.

I ended up transferring to the 6 train to find the mystery/secret city hall subway stop but didn't have much look.  Myself and the other passengers who stayed on the 6 as it turned around City Hall believe they must have boarded up the station so you can't see it.  :-(

After that mini adventure I checked into a bar to grab a drink while I waited for David to get off of work.  We met up for some Indian food in the east village using one of his coupons.  A $36 something meal for just $12.  :-)

And there was my weekend pretty much in a nut shell.
:-)  Enjoying this adventure and city :-)
